"On a Poets Block: Industry (Underground and Uprising) is the third in a series of performance poetry and hip hop plays presented by Poetree Chicago Inc. This effort exposes what it's like trying to make it through the industry on your own terms. In effect, it is about choices and the results of those choices.

The choices can also lead us to slavery, nightmares, and destruction. These are the issues addressed in the poetry and hip hop play presented this evening. Poetree Chicago is led by Chicago mainstay, Brother Mike. The group fuses poetry, hip hop, spoken word, Jazz and more as an instrument to address social concerns.

Previous performances by the group were presented as part of Neo Soul Explosion at Navy Pier this summer. Performers include Rhea Tobler, Kevin Coval, Sherrille Lamb, Bossey Ikpi, Kelly Thsi and a host of others.
