Dancing Across State Lines is a national touring exchange program developed by Zephyr Dance to promote touring opportunities for small modern dance companies throughout the United States. By bringing high quality regional dance to Chicago, helping to engage guest artists in community outreach programs, and encouraging exchange engagements, Zephyr is serving as a vital catalyst for creative growth and dialogue among artists throughout the Midwest.

Wild Space Dance company, founded 1986, is under the artistic direction of Debra Loewen. The company inaugurated their first international tour in 1994 performing at the Chiba Cultural festival in Chiba, Japan. Wild Space is Milwaukee's only dance company creating site-specific choregraphy. Large scale site-specific works have included work in empty swimming pools, at the Milwaukee Art Museum, and on a barge in the Milwaukee River. Wild Space is also committed to expanding contemporary dance audiences through educcation and specialoutreach performances.
