Chicagoan Tim Brown was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. In 1983 he graduated summa cum laude from Northern Illinos University with a degree in American Studies. He is the author of three novels, Left of the Loop, Deconstruction Acres, and the recently completed Walking Man.

Nina Barrett is the author of three non-fiction books, most recently The Girls: A True Story of Lifelong Friendship (Simon & Schuster, 1998). Currently she teaches writing at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is the managing editor of Previewport.com a literary website.
This event will be followed by Guild Complex Chicago Labor & Arts Festival Music Event featuring Los Statistics, Brenda Mathews, and The Amoreys. The mission of the Guild Complex Chicago Labor & Arts Festical is to showcase art that celebrates the joys and struggles of workingclass people and to stimulat people to respond individually or collectively to the changing social environment. This year's festival includes a musical component that promises to entertain and well mentally stimulate.
Los Statistics, Chicago's not for profit Rock and Roll blue collar working class band. Featuring Ron Erikson on drums, Donald Can Durme on bass, and Rey Flores on guitar and vocals.
Brenda Matthews is an actress, poet, playwright, and activist. Brenda will be performing tracks from her new CD entitled A Piece of My Soul. The Amoreys, rock music with a seditious wink....America's most punctual, and Chicago's talles Rock, Traditional, Alternative, "this and that" band plays original songs from R&B/Funk and Roots to folk/Country
