Sun April 22 6pm - The Hejna Chair in Polish Language and Literature at University of Illinois at Chicago cordially invites you to a video presentation of "History of Media Art in Poland" by Piotr Krajewski.   A reception compliments of UIC immediately follows.

Piotr Krajewski - Founder and artistic director of the WRO Media Art Biennale and chief curator of the WRO Art Center. He is senior lecturer at the Department of Intermedia at the Poznań University and  the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts. He has published extensively about media art, the cultural impact of new technologies and the history of video art. Krajewski's most recent book, The Hidden Decade: Polish Video Art 1985-1995, was published in 2011, and includes a set of dvds with a curatorial program of classic Polish video works. Among the most recent exhibitions he has curated are shows by Mirosław Bałka, Robert Cahen, Zbig Rybczyński, Izabella Gustowska and Paweł Janicki. The exhibition The State of the Image, curated by Piotr Krajewski and Miklós Peternak, is currently open at the renowned ZKM Center for Art And Media in Karlsruhe, Germany.
