This evening marks the Tenth Year Anniversary of In The Spirit. The performance duo of vocalist, Glenda Zahra Caker and storyteller, Emil Hooper Lansana combine their gifts to uplift the spirit and share the vision of the black experience.

Through stories of survival and refrains of resistance, In The Spirit gives voice to those that are often forgotten. Their performances are both captivating and involving. Each performance celebrates the power of the oral tradition to connect, heal and transform lives. This evening they will be joined by guest musicians including percussionist Avreeayl Ra. Together Emily and Zhara will share stories, songs and poems that illustrare their jorney forward as women, teachers and friends.
