Anne Benjamin is mostly a printmaker and graphic designer. Summer Kee is a visual artist and have been living in Chicago for the past seven years. She attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and received a BFA in Studio Arts and Art Education with an emphasis in painting. In addition to working as a painter she teaches in the Chicago Public Schools and volunteers for P.L.A.Y., Possibilities in Life Art for Youth, a non profit arts enrichment organization that works with at risk youth. In the drawings and paintings represented Summer is primarily interested in the juxtaposition of color to create a field from a figure or possibly a figure from a field. In Highlights, lowlights and Spring, she uses highly saturated colors and matte Flashe vinyl paint to emphasis color contrasts. In Back with blue and Elephant she manipulates the space and forms with cutout paper. She refers to these pieces as sketches with paper.
