Reading with Krista Franklin, Nweena Gates, Keedra Gustavia and Folade Mondisa.
07/12/00 - 07/12/00
Nweena Gates is enrolled in the MFA program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Overall she believes that “writing is cathartic. All of my stories, my characters, my poems, they are the collective voices of the women (survivors) who are a part of my environments.”
Keedra Gustavia resides in Ohio. Beginning this fall, she will travel throughout Africa where she will pursue photography and interdisciplinary art. Her photography has appeared in Nexus Journal of Literature and Art. Keedra’s work is an introspective journey through her life and through the tradition from which she was born.
Folade Mondisa speaks is pursuing her MFA in Creative Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her literary work and visual art have been published in Mad River Books Anthology, milk magazine on-line, andNexus Journal of Literature and Art. Her latest chapbook of prose, magick, is an erotica piece. Folade is in the process of creating a poetry series inspired by the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Krista, Nweena, keedra, and folade are students in the MFA program at the School of the Art Institute.
