Speakers

Brent D. Payne

CEO, Loud Interactive

Brent D. Payne started doing ‘SEO’ before it was even called 'SEO'. He’s an internet marketer with over a decade of experience and proven success. He cut his teeth in online marketing as a vendor for Amazon.com where he became Amazon’s second largest electronics vendor by driving demand to Amazon from search engines. Brent is esteemed as one of the top SEOs in the world. He speaks around the world (just Google 'SEO presentations' to find them) at online conferences and has held online marketing roles at prestigious companies such as Tribune Company, where he grew Tribune's search engine traffic from 500,000 visits per day to 1,700,000 visits per day in just 3 years. He’s been consulting since 2009.

Dan Olson

CEO, UpCity

Dan has been in digital marketing for over 15 years and is passionate about supporting and developing the Chicago entrepreneurial community. Currently, Dan is the CEO of UpCity, which provides a cost-effective platform for small businesses to get free traffic from search engines, social media, mobile and local listings. Prior to UpCity, Dan was a Vice President and early employee at Performics, a venture backed company that was bought by DoubleClick in 2004 and ultimately Google in 2008. Dan earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame.

Rod Holmes

Partner, Chicago Style SEO

Rod Holmes made his first website when Netscape was the only available browser. He has been making his living off the Internet since 1998 when his Tokyo-based company, Eight13, was funded by the Hitachi Corporation to create an online learning-management system. After selling Eight13, he and his family moved to Chicago where he eventually met Ben Robinson. Not long after learning about SEO from Ben, they combined their strengths and founded the Internet marketing agency, Chicago Style SEO. Rod is a Google Certified AdWords Professional and all-around pretty good geek about all forms of SEO.

Rod lives close enough to Wrigley Field that he can listen to concerts from his bedroom. He lives there with his wife, two children, and way too many cats. While he originally came to Chicago begrudgingly, he is now eyeing a Chicago flag bumper sticker, which, considering he won't be getting any tattoos anytime soon, is his personal testament to his love of the city.
