This continuing seies typifies the sense of community the Guild Complex is known for fostering. Bound by verse, distanced only by generational perspective, this series creates dialogue and broadens the scope of the featured readers and audience members alike.
For over thirty years David Hernandez has continued to impress audiences with his singular poetic style. Centering his work on the pathos and rhythms of urban life, Hernandez captures the universal qualitites as they resonate in urban life. He is the author of four books of poetry and his work has been published in numerous anthologies. Satin City Serenadeis his latest work as leader of the poetry and music group David Hernandez and Street Sounds.
Aide Rodriguez is a 1999 graduate of the University of Michigan. She is one of two voices in the poetry/music ensamble sonido ink (quieto); her poetry was recently published in the anthology Between the Heart and the Land: Anthology of Latina Poets in the Midwest(2001 March/Abrazo Press).
