You've been tweaking that story for weeks now. lt's time to take the leap and read it in front of people - live, breathing human beings. This first night in a new series, the Guild Complex presents a curated evening of fiction. Submissions are enthusiastically sought and encouraged.

Emerging and established writers are equally welcome. A short story or selection from a longerwork (approximately 10 pages/double-spaced that can be read aloud in fifteen minutes] should be sent to the Guild Complex.

Chicago has a tremendous poetry scene and a strong network of venues for poetry performance. Our hope is to help build that same network and audience for stories and prose writers.

Those who write stories and those who love stories are warmly invited to join us in this building process. Selly ke' Thiam is a Senegalese-American fiction writer, photographer and aspiring filmmaker. She has received the Zora Neale Hurston/Richard Wright Award for fiction.

Her first novel Creeper will debut in 2005.
