Engaged in a frantic search for something that's missing, these artists rephrase life size questions by exploring liminal spaces.  Somewhere between Mexico City and Madison, the sun and your window, the eye and the brain, two hearts, male and female, idleness and productivity, this word and the word next to it, lie the answers. Tonigh these 6 Chicago artists come together to construct a vast dragnet, where the group's quandaries work to drudge up a diverse range of new proposals and problems for our consideration. Tonight also features a few recent graduates of UIC's MFA program.

Norte y Sur (Luis Sanchez Ramirez) - Sancez Ramirez's debut experimental documentary focuses on the multi-dimensional experience of migrant workers.  Norte y Sur winds through media, narrative and history as it follows the uncertain path of the filmmaker's parents from Madison, WI to Mexico City.

Boots for Tula (Malic Amalya) - Amalya premier's a film adaptation of a short story writtent by San Francisco author Rhiannon Argo.

Cyclone, Avalanche, Shock-waave, Thunderbolt (Dana Carter) - A quiet re-routing of the sun through a series of daylong time-lapse animations of the artists drawings.

Cut Out (Clare Britt) - After diissectin Vogue magazines and organizing the found images into color fields, Clare Britt animates the new forms exploding into space.

Untitled Studio Videos (Eric Fleischauer) - Series of low-fi videos that use the medium to access nuanced or inaccessible spaces within a particular place.

On the Edge of Utterance and Being Articulate: A Brief introduction to "The Poetics of Space" 9 Todd Simeone) - This short video "essay" takes a look at language, image and the artist's voice by editing down a recited text to the space between words adn the edge of their meanings.
