Private Exhibition,Friday July 31st - Chopin Theatre presents Slawomir  Mrozek’s “Out at Sea” is one of the world’s best known short plays. Extremely smart and brilliantly absurd comedy, features 3 hungry people on a raft whom, through manipulation and absurd elections, must decide whom to eat.

We choose this play to open Chopin Theatre’s 25th season because we’ve realized during those years that, even though we’ve had over 1 million theatergoers, our message is limited. So this year we are taking “Out at Sea” to dozen Midwest Universities (IL, IN, MI, WI, OH). Next year, we’d like to go many, many other places.

We think we may succeed because “Out at Sea” is, in big part, about campaigning and manipulation.  And this upcoming Election season already looks like a circus.
