Evening concludes with Michal Urbaniak talking of the special moments in his life and career intermixed with live music with special guests, Felton Crews Band.

Michal Urbaniak is an internationally renowned violinist, saxophonist, composer , arranger and discoverer of talent. A Polish-born “citizen of the world", he has lived in New York City since 1973.  He became famous in the world of recording an album " Tutu " with the greatest jazz legend Miles Davis . He has invited to  cooperate with such famous jazz artists  as Quincy Jones, Billy Cobham, Stephane Grappelli , Joe Zawinul , Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Kenny Garrett , George Benson, Marcus Miller , Jaco Pastorius, Toots Thielmans, Kenny Kirkland, Larry Coryell , Lenny White and Alphonze Mouzon .   Also a leader, composer and arranger of his own projects including: “Jazz Legends"; " Fusion"; "Urbanator"; “Urbanizer”; and “  "UrbSymphony” (first project which jazz and rap introduced to the symphony).   Mr. Urbaniak is a Winner of the Grand Prix Festival in Montreux for Best Soloist ( 1971); has performed several times at Carnegie Hall and is a frequent performer at the world’s best jazz festivals: Newport Jazz Festival;  JVC Festival; Chicago Jazz Festival; Lugano; and Den Haag.  ).  To date he has made over 60 albums.


For many years Mr. Urbaniak has been associated with film and theater and has written music for films "Astonished"; "As the Band Played On"; “Dreambird”; "Farewell to Autumn"  M. Trelinski , " Spona " W.Szarek , " The Debt " and " The great thing " (K. Krauze, Poland ) . He received the main prize at the International Film Festival in Gdynia for music films "The Debt ", "Farewell to Autumn" and "Eden".  In 2012 Mr. Urbaniak premiered and starred in “My Father’s Bike” (Peter Trzaskalski) receiving Best Actor/Discovery of the Year in Polish Film at the International Black Nights Film Festival (Estonia, 2013)


The last plate design Urbaniak, "Miles of Blue" (Sony Music, 2010) is dedicated to Miles Davis, and was certified platinum . In September 2011 Agora Publishing House released “I, Urbanator” a book on his life written by Andrew Makovetski.
