The CAFE ANTARSIA ENSEMBLE plays a unique style of "nouveau gypsy music" with roots in Greek blues, Arabic percussion and American cabaret.

CAE was created by Greek-Texan Nikos Brisco famous in Deep Ellum Dallas for fronting Fever in the Funkhouse--and Ruth Margraff a leader in American playwriting known for pushing the boundaries between speaking and singing. With master percussionist Rami El-Aasser, and Ron Riley’s rock-steady strum & Delta slide, CAE has been deeply inspired by Roma/Gypsies such as Dragan Ristic and Svetozar Djula Milosavljevic (Juliano Milo) and www.VoiceofRoma.com.

Café Antarsia's 1st album is represented by Innova Records and they have been touring all over the USA, Canada, UK, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Ireland, Greece, Turkey, Netherlands, Egypt and Azerbaijan; with awards from American Composers Forum, TCG/International Theater Institute, Trust for Mutual Understanding of NY, Arts International, JPMorgan Grant for Small Ensembles, Meet the Composer, Fulbright Foundation: New Opera Award to Greece, etc.
