Chicago Public School's Office of Teaching & Learning presents "Acting: Methods to Madness" a workshop from leading directors, actors and instructors to assist teachers in the classroom.

Following the morning Brunch panelists R Corley, A Gallant and L Grimm will have a lively discussion followed by hands on theater exercises.  The afternoon concludes with a piano recital of the works of Chopin presented by Macedonian J Pavlovska, a Masters student at Roosevelt University.

Today's participants:

Richard Corley is a director, playwright and producer whose work has been seen across America and internationally.  Most recently he was the Artistic Director of Madison Repertory Theater and previously Assoc Producing Director of NY's The Acting Company.  He is the author of the play "Tierra Del Gueo" and provided the original translation of Marivaux's "The Game of Love and Chance".  He is the recipient of the TCG/NEA Director Fellowship.

Andrew Gallant is the co-founder of Green Shirt Studio, an instructional acting school of the Meisner technique of which he is a certified instructor.  He holds an MFA in Theater (DePaul University), a BA in Theater (Univ Wisconsin-Madison) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Acting from Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

Lawrence Grimm is an ensemble member of A Red Orchid theater where he has appeared in "Born Guilty", "The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial", "In the Solitutde of the Cotton Fields" and has directed "The Cut".  Locally he has appeared with Steppenwolf, Lookingglass, Collaboraction and Raven theaters.  He is a teaching artist for Second City, Urban Gateways, Writers Theater, Steppenwolf, The Audition Studio and Lookingglass.   

Jana Pavolovska was born in Skopje, R Macedonia and is currently pursuing her Masters in Piano performance at Roosevelt University under Dr. Winston Choi.   She has participated in many national and internation competitions and has received fifteen First and Secon Prizes in solo and chamber sections from performances in Bulgaria, Italy, France, The United Kingdom, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and the US.  Prior Master Class studies have been with esteemed Professors Pavel Egorov, Ludmila Romanova, Briggite Engerer, John Humphreys, Robert Markham, Victor Sangiorgio, Tomaz Petrac, Ray Still and Jerome Lowmenthal.
