Nisha Herron is a Chicago born singer-songwriter who has been playing guitar, singing an writing songs for about sixteen years Her original songs are about community, personal feelings, and dreams. At the age of eleven she taught herself guitar and started writing as a means of expressing her emotions.

Nisha Herron is a Chicago born singer-songwriter who has been playing guitar, singing an writing songs for about sixteen years.

Her original songs are about community, personal feelings, and dreams. At the age of eleven she taught herself guitar and started writing as a means of expressing her emotions. Musically she has been influenced by Bob Marley, Earth Wind& Fire, Minnie Ripperton, Bob Dylan, Chrissie Hynde, and many others. She is performing professionally as well as basking in Chicago subways and on the street of Memphis and New Orleans. It is through this tug of war that she has found her own voice as a songwriter. She has a Bachelors in Liberal Arts Degree from Columbia College, where she also studied music theory, poetry and private guitar. Currently she has an original song entitled ?Sunshine?, featured in ?Flyin?West,? a production at the Onyx Theater.
