Robert Breer is one of the true masters of filmmaking.

The simple line drawings, geometric shapes, and abstractions of his animation style are deceptive. Working with these sparse, minimal forms, Breer manages to create astonishing works, full of rich imagery and clever visual puns. The rhythms and movements in his films have a both a fluidity and a precision which imbue hs work with a sublime feeling all his own. Tonight?s program features eleven films, spanning most of Breer?s 45 year career. A Man and His dog Out for Air (1957, 2 min) 66 (1966, 5 min.) Gulls and Buoys (1972, 7.5 min.) Fuji (1974, 8.5 min.) Ruber Cement (1976, 10 min.) 77 (1977, 6 min.) LMNO (1978, 9.5 min) Swiss Army Knife with Rats and Pigeons (1981, 6.5 min.) Trial Balloons (1983, 5.5 min.) Bang! (1986, 10 min.) and Sparkill Ave!
