Ellen Rosner is the consummate singer/songwriter/solo-gal. Her rich black coffee voice wails and moans her extravagant folk-rock melodies as she attacks her guitar like an old lover. Her songs, often fearless, angry diatribes, are full of moody yearnings and vast expectations. Imagine the love child of Eddie Vedder and Janis Joplin wailing melodic folk-rock originals so moody and tight you thought the angels came down from heaven just to sing to you. Ellen is one of the founders of Gal-O-Rama, a moveable feast of female singer/songwriters. She also hosts ?Ellen Plays Well With Others,? a monthly (often) unplugged songwriter get together at the Hideout and Heartland. The others that Ellen will play with tonight will be the fabulous J. Davis Trio, country diva Kelly Kessler and spoken word performer Anita Loomis.
