"Tales of Love and War" encompasses three performances pieces engaging dance, poetry, theater, hockey, gardening, medical problems, etc.

David Schein will perform a new piece entitled "The Black Panty Suite" John LeFan will perform a new piece entitled "F-Mail," and the two will perform a collaboration derived digitally (with fingers and toes) entitled "Rats of the Air Part Three."

John LeFan has been creating performance work since 1965, in venues ranging from film and television to dance to Equity theater, to experimental works based on Grotowski's physical Theater. He is a founding member of Mangrove Men's Dance company, which taught and helped develop the form of Contact Improvisation. He and David Schein collaborated with John O'Keefe and Whoopi Goldgerg on "Rats of the Air" and other projects in the early eighties.

David Schein was a founding member of both Iowa Theater Lab and the Blake Street Hawkeyes in San Francisco. He was the original director and contributing writer to "Whoopi Goldberg on Broadway," and has toured his own solos, performed in companies, taught, toured and directed in North America and Europe. Since 1991 he has served as Artistic Director and later Executive Director of Free Street Programs in Chicago, creating original performances with low-income, inner-city and parenting teens. Thse productions have been presented at Steppenwolf Theater and in three European tours.
